This Black Poplar said No to death after I cut its top off last year to prevent a blow-over on the shack. It was topped about 14 feet up so the roots and base were still under the impression that it was alive and continued to suck moisture from the ground and send it up. Meanwhile, the neighbouring black poplar budded and pooped some seeds onto the stump, and by late summer, offshoots had started, and by fall, they made this nice effect. Whoohoo!
